The Human Aura
by Christi Breerwood
For as long as I can remember, I have had an insatiable fascination with the paranormal. In the plethora of theories that have intrigued me throughout the years of personal study and investigation with FindersCreepers, the research specifically associated with the aura has captivated me like no other. What I find most amazing, is that these radiations can be photographed! Of course, being a photographer, I began to study the history of aura photography and the theories behind it.
5,000 years ago, ancient Indian culture believed in a universal source of all life, the prana. This energy, moved through all things to give them life. In China, over 3,000 years ago, Qigong masters referred to the human energy field as the Qi. They practiced techniques to use the Qi to improve health, awareness, psychic powers, and spiritual development. They were also the first to use acupuncture to balance the human energy fields. Around 538 B.C., the Jews referred to these energies as astral light in the Kabbalah. Later on, halos were depicted around the heads of Christ, the virgin Mary, saints, Buddha, and other spiritual leaders and has become an iconographic element of this period in art history. In Indian art, many of the gods were portrayed to be releasing light or energy from their fingers. In John White's book, “Future Science”, the author states that in over 97 different cultures, references are made to the aura or human energy field (HEF)!
HEF and its research have had an ongoing place in medical history as well. The Pythagoreans, in 500 B.C., believed in a universal light energy that could effect the treatment and cure of the sick.
