Sooner Corral in Oklahoma City

Sooner Corral
(Previously The Westernear Ballroom/The Silver Dollar Saloon)
10300 S. Sooner Rd.
Oklahoma City, OK 73165

Built in 1948, the Sooner Corral is a bustling nightclub located on the East side of Oklahoma City. This is a large bar with a diverse crowd, great music and strong drinks. That being said, the drinks aren't the only types of spirits the Sooner Corral is known for. This location has been the subject of previous paranormal investigations, all of which have found some activity present in the building. The owner, staff and even some of their guests have described many amazing experiences at the location, and we at FindersCreepers were anxious to go in and try to record evidence of, or debunk some of the experiences we have heard about.

Representing the Sooner Corral
-
Richard Mansfield, Owner
-
Stacy Means, Bar Tender
During our initial meeting at the Sooner Corral, we met with the owner, Richard & his bartender, Stacy. After sitting down and discussing the history of the location for a while, we got up and began a tour of the building. During the tour, we talked about the “hot-spots” of activity and learned even more about some of the fascinating events they have experienced in the past. After the tour, we decided to call it a night and arranged to arrive at the location the next morning at 2:00 am.

During our preparation for the investigation, we documented all conditions relative to our research including weather conditions, moon phase, Geo-Magnetic Field, etc. Upon arrival at the Sooner Corral, we met again with the owner and his staff, and began to set up our base station in the Northeast corner of the bar. Once all of our equipment was set up and checked, the investigative team set out to retrieve baselines of temperature and EMF in all rooms and sections of the building, and then begun the investigation.
Noteworthy: Although the majority of all lights, etc. were turned off, this is a bar with a lot of EMF throughout, therefore all EMF hits received were taken in that light.

Tim's video camera lost all power and shut itself off. After restarting, it was found to have 42 minutes of power remaining and functioned flawlessly the rest of the investigation.
-
Susie's flashlight began to flicker when coming out of the upstairs office... at the same time, an employee's flashlight also began to flicker. For a short time, both lights were flickering at the same time.
Photographic anomalies: Many photo's with orbs, but none that seem to suggest anything other then standard dust orbs.
Video anomalies: to follow
Other Noteworthy:
-
During the second visit to the upstairs office, both Susie and Cameron described sensations of being touched. At that time, Susie became so overwhelmed with a feeling of nausea that we had to retreat to a different part of the building.
-
In the downstairs female bathroom, (by the stage), both Tim and Cameron described feeling the sensations of spider webs in their faces. Upon examination, no spider webs were present.
Conclusion:
We had a great time during the investigation and wish to thank Richard, Stacy and the rest of the Sooner Corral staff for their amazing hospitality.
During the invest, we discovered many quality EVP, Personal Experiences and other Phenomenon that lead us to conclude that there appears to be some kind of paranormal activity taking place at the Sooner Corral.
This location definitely warrants further attention, and we will work with Richard to schedule a follow-up investigation so that we can continue to pursue our research of this amazing location.
